John Alvis, Nuclear Fuel Senior Engineer
Education: M.S. Nuclear Engineering, 1988
Specialization: Mr. Alvis has over 20 years experience in the nuclear-related engineering safety analysis field performing thermal-mechanical fuel analysis, single channel and system wide thermal hydraulics analyses, risk and safety analysis, computational model development, and criticality, shield, containment and dose consequence analysis.

Michael W. Kennard, Nuclear Fuel Senior Engineer
Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, 1979
Specialization: An NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor, Mr. Kennard has over 25 years related experience in fuel performance assessment, design analyses and reviews, root cause analyses, and design and fabrication audits.

Dr. Wenfeng Liu, Project Engineer
Education: Ph.D. Nuclear Engineering, 2007
Specialization: Mr. Liu has over 10 years of experience in nuclear engineering field with specialty in thermal and mechanical analysis of nuclear fuel performance and model development, research experience on RIA and LOCA issues of high burnup fuel and hands-on experience using NRC’s audit code FRAPCON/FRATPRAN and EPRI’s fuel performance code FALCON.

Specialization: Mr. Lyon has over 25 years of experience focusing on computational software development and coding, nuclear fuels and materials modeling, experiment design and analysis, and fuel performance design and analysis. Project experience gained through support of multiple agencies, national laboratories, utilities and research organizations.

Dion Sunderland, Nuclear Fuel Senior Engineer

Specialization: Mr. Sunderland has over 25 years of related experience especially with Zirconium alloy materials and properties, fuel performance and design analyses, design and fabrication audits, irradiation effects on material behavior, and root cause failure analyses.

Hannu Wallin, Nuclear Fuel Senior Engineer
Education: Dipl. Eng. Nuclear Technology, 1988
Specialization: Mr. Wallin has over 25 years experience in nuclear fuel tests, fuel modeling and code development. In-depth knowledge of fission gas behavior, high burnup phenomena, pellet sintering, and sphere-pac fuels.

Anthony Zangari, Nuclear Fuel Senior Engineer
Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, 1973
Specialization: Mr. Zangari has over 35 years experience modifying nuclear fuel performance programs such as EPRI’s fuel performance code FREY, FALCON and DEFECT to include latest material and thermal models and developing program to read output from utility programs such as SIMULATE, SPNOVA and ANC, and write data in format for fuel performance program.

Structural Engineering
Keith Kubischta, Engineer
Education: M.S. Structural Engineering, 2002
Specialization: Mr. Kubischta is experienced in the use of nonlinear finite element programs and in bridge modeling with the implementation of 2-D and 3-D continuum elements, beam, and shell elements for both steel and concrete material models. Project experience includes the axissymmetric analysis of containment vessel, local and global modeling of walls in a building, design analysis of a large valve for the Army Corp of Engineers, and the complete modeling of a bridge.

Daniel R. Parker, Senior Engineer

Specialization: Mr. Parker specializes in nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete and steel structures including seismic performance of bridges, buildings and dams. Mr. Parker has significant project experience in Nonlinear Incremental Structural Analysis (NISA) to assess thermal mechanical interaction of mass concrete structures, and has developed procedures to further enhance this analysis methodology.

Dr. Sidney A. Bernsen, Corporate Quality Assurance Manager
Education: Ph.D. Mechanical Engineering
Specialization: Dr. Bernsen has over 50 years experience in research, development, design, licensing, quality assurance and management of nuclear and other high technology facilities. He is a leader in the development and application of nuclear quality assurance standard and is active in national and international standards committees, including the ASME Board on Nuclear Codes and Standards.
