Building Collapse Study – Edificio Alto Rio in Concepción, Chile
ANATECH is currently working with Structural Engineering Professors Jose Restrepo and Joel Conte from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to predict the collapse of the Alto Rio Edificio building in Concepción, Chile. The February 27, 2010 Chilean earthquake occurred off the central coast of Chile, approximately 120 miles north of Concepción with a magnitude of 8.8 and intense shaking lasting about three minutes.
